Baseball Seventh in ABCA Poll
ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Shenandoah University will head to the NCAA Baseball Tournament as a Top 10 team in rankings released Tuesday morning by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
Shenandoah, 34-8 and USA South Conference Champions, is once again the nation's No. 7 team in the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball poll.
SU has 190 points to come in just behind Birmingham-Southern (Ala.). The Panthers, who are ineligible for the NCAA Tournament because of reclassifying from Division I, have 191 points.
Johns Hopkins (Md.) is the nation's No. 1 with 237 points and five of a possible eight first-place votes.
The Hornets are the only USA South Conference squad in the 30-team ABCA poll.
This is the final ABCA poll of the regular season. Their next poll will come out on May 18, one day after the selection of the 2010 NCAA Tournament field.
