Baseball Seventh in D3baseball.com Poll
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Shenandoah University put a cap on its outstanding 2009 baseball season Friday afternoon with a final ranking of No. 7 in the D3baseball.com poll.
SU, which won a school-record 38 games this season on its way to an NCAA South Region championship and an appearance in the Division III Championships, finished with 462 points in the final poll of the season.
The Hornets jumped 10 spots from its previous high of No. 17 in the D3baseball.com poll and coach Kevin Anderson's club finished the year by being ranked for eight straight weeks.
St. Thomas (Minn.), the 2009 national champion, is the No. 1 team in the poll while Carthage (Wis.), the team that eliminated SU from the tournament, is No. 3.
