Baseball Rises to No. 18

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Two wins in two outings last week translated into a three-spot jump for the Shenandoah University baseball team in the national Top 25 poll released Tuesday morning by NCBWA/D3baseball.com.

This is the fifth straight week that the Hornets (33-8) have been ranked in the national poll. SU has been as high as No. 17 and was 21st last week.

Shenandoah downed Stevenson, 9-0, and Wesley, 8-6, in a pair of road games last week. Coach Kevin Anderson's squad completes its regular season tomorrow with a game at regionally ranked Frostburg State.

The Hornets have 203 points in this week's poll to stand four points back of Cal Lutheran and 18 in front of St. Thomas (Minn.).

After three weeks of being the only USA South Conference team in the poll, SU is joined this week by Christopher Newport. The Captains are No. 24 after splitting with national No. 4 Salisbury and sweeping regionally ranked York (Pa.)
