Baseball Falls to No. 21
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - For the fourth straight week, the Shenandoah University baseball team has made an appearance in the nation's Top 25 poll as released Tuesday morning by NCBWA/D3baseball.com.
The Hornets, who were an all-time best 17th in the nation last week, fell four spots to No. 21 in the week nine poll after winning three of five games last week.
Shenandoah raced into the USA South Conference Tournament finals with wins over Greensboro, N.C. Wesleyan and Ferrum before dropping a pair to NCWC on Sunday afternoon in the championship series.
SU has 104 points in this week's poll to stand one point behind Linfield (Ore.) and four back of George Fox (Ore.).
The Hornets are once again the only USA South team in the top 25.
Shenandoah was scheduled to return to the field at Frostburg State Tuesday afternoon, but this game has been postponed due to heavy rains last night in western Maryland. A makeup date is to be announced.
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics also announced Tuesday that photo galleries from each of the baseball team's games from the tournament are now posted on www.suhornets.com. Click on each tournament game story to access each photo gallery.
