Baseball Improves to No. 17
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Shenandoah University baseball improved three spots in this week's NCBWA/D3baseball.com Top 25 rankings to No. 20 in the nation in the week eight poll released Tuesday morning.
The Hornets, coming off of a 4-1 week and now with an Anderson-era record 28 wins, have 163 points in this week's poll to vault to the best-ever 17th place ranking.
Shenandoah jumped ahead of long-time power Marietta, who was one spot in front of SU last week.
The Hornets are the only USA South Conference team in the top 25, but both Methodist and Christopher Newport are among the 20 teams to also receive votes in the poll.
SU is off until opening USA South Conference Tournament play on Thursday morning at 9:30 against fifth-seeded Greensboro.
