A veteran of the Shenandoah University Faculty, Brian Wigley was named as the university's Faculty Athletics Representative to Athletics in the summer of 2010.
Dr. Wigley is a former college student-athlete, competing for one year at UT-Arlington prior to transferring to the University of Texas at Austin to complete his undergraduate studies.
After receiving a B.S. in Kinesiology with a Coaching emphasis in 1988, Wigley moved on to high school coaching and teaching in Texas until deciding to pursue a Master's Degree at Texas A&M.
Wigley received both his Master's and Doctorate degrees at Texas A&M, completing his Ed.D in August 2002.
In the summer of 2012, Wigley served as interim AD during a transition period in the department.
Wigley came to SU in August 2002 as an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2006.
In the summer of 2013, Wigley's primary teaching program, Sports Management, split off from Kinesiology and moved from the College of Arts & Sciences to the Byrd School of Business. He now serves as the chair of that program within the School of Business.
