WINCHESTER, Va. – This weekend brings six home events, including three Senior Day contests and two that have been designated as "Hornets for Hornets" games.
A new program started by interim Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Brian Wigley, the "Hornets for Hornets" program has been created to highlight one game for each program in each season.
The department invites student-athletes not playing that day to attend the "Hornets for Hornets" wearing their "Big Picture" t-shirts and support the squad in action.
Volleyball and field hockey, along with men's soccer, have Senior Day contests planned for this weekend.
The volleyball team gets that started on Friday night with its 7 p.m. ODAC contest versus Hollins. Prior to the match, Kaitlyn Kelley, the squad's lone senior, will be honored for her four years with the program.
A total of 12 student-athletes will be recognized prior to those two games for their academic and athletic successes.
The final two home events this weekend come on the tennis court as men's and women's tennis each host USTA Open Challenge tournaments.
