Dear Fans:
On behalf of the student-athletes, coaches and staff of Shenandoah Athletics, I would like to thank all of our Shenandoah University Athletic Association (SUAA) contributors for their past support and commitment to our program. The 2009-10 athletic year provided many exciting and memorable moments.
Our teams continue to excel both academically and athletically. In the past six years, we have won conference championships in baseball, football, softball, and women's lacrosse. In addition, the baseball team won the school's second straight NCAA South Region title this past spring and made an appearance in the Division III World Series as they completed the year ranked No. 6 in the country. The team also earned a record numbers of student-athletes earning All-League, All-Region and All-America honors.
Off the field during this past year, baseball player Greg Van Sickler was named third team ESPN Academic All-America. Equally as impressive was our women's cross country team that finished the year with the eighth highest team GPA in the nation and the 94 student-athletes that earned Academic All-USA South accolades.
The 2010-11 school year is about to begin and I would like to ask each of you to become a new member or renew your past relationship with the Shenandoah University Athletic Association. Begin today to be a partner in the development of our intercollegiate athletics program. Our NCAA Division III student-athletes do not receive any form of athletic scholarships; they are true student-athletes who play for the love of the sport. The mission of the SUAA is to enable and facilitate each individual towards a goal for excellence, both in the classroom and on the playing fields.
The impact that your generous donation can have on our programs is tremendous. We need your help, not only maintaining last year's support, but securing new dollars for the continued development of our facilities and the overall operational budget for each of our sports. Please consider increasing your contribution during the 2010-11 enrollment period and tell your friends, family members, co-workers and fellow alumni about the great benefits of being a Shenandoah University Athletic Association Member. One hundred percent of your gift can be designated for any particular sport. Share your enthusiasm for Shenandoah Athletics by becoming a member of the SUAA today.
Thank you for your support.
